Vygo Mentor Profile Requirements and Process
When you join a program as a mentor for the first time, you will need to complete all the mandatory profile fields including - About Me, Availability, Languages and Profile Picture.
There is a minimum standard that must be adhered to for mentor profiles, which is outlined below.
Mentor Profile Requirements
Good Profile Picture
A nice, clear photo of your face. The photo needs to allow the mentee to recognise you when you meet up in person or online. A good quality, vibrant photo also increases your chances of getting bookings.
Appropriate 'About Me'
You need to include enough information about your qualifications, hobbies and experience that mentees feel comfortable booking a session with you. We also check for spelling and grammatical errors. Some institutions require certain details in your about me - if so, it is important to understand what these are by contacting your Program Manager.
Informative Availability
Your availability needs to include accurate information to assist your mentees when requesting sessions with you. Please ensure you tick the days and time slots that you are free as this will be the slots for which students could book you on.
For example:
The image below shows you what a mentors availability looks like throughout a week. You could also choose to have 2 slots one one day for sessions.
Languages
Please select up to one or more languages you are comfortable in conversing in with students.
Tagline (Optional)
You can include a tagline which summarises yourself in a short sentence. You could add in your course information or add in your position along with details of your employment depending on the nature of the programme you are in.
Please have a look at the images below which are examples of how this looks to users on platform.
Introductory Video (Optional)
You could also add in an introductory video where you would introduce yourself in a short video (Around 20-30 seconds) where you would ideally explain what your background is and what you hope to get out of this programme.
